Prohibited and Allowed Items (Photo Below):

  • Please make sure you are following all protocols and do not bring prohibited items. You will not be allowed into the event with any prohibited items, and we will not be able to store those items. Please consider this event in relation to security similar to that of an OU, OSU, or OKC Thunder basketball game.

  • Lawn chairs, stadium seats, umbrellas, and noisemakers will not be permitted. We need all available space for the number of spectators expected. Stadium seats would reduce the number of seats available. In addition, stadium seats and lawn chairs would slow down the security entrances with additional time searching/clearing each chair.

  • We will utilize weapon detection systems and have security guards at each of the four entrances. This will require additional time to get inside the stadium. Please make plans accordingly to ensure plenty of time to get inside the stadium and be seated. No food or reusable water bottles will be permitted. The athletic event clear bag policy will be in effect.

Additional notes for consideration if attending the graduation ceremony:

  • Additional security and police officers will be stationed throughout the stadium and campus.

  • Seating will be available in both the home and visitors’ bleachers as well as standing room areas along the fences and courtyard areas. Other than handicapped seating, there are NO reserved or saved seats – it will strictly be first come first served.

  • The stage will be at the south end of the field by the jumbotron

  • Additional handicapped seating for those in wheelchairs will be provided on the field. An additional folding chair will be available for each person sitting in a wheelchair to have a non-handicapped person sitting beside them in this area.

  • Parents, family, and friends will NOT be allowed in the staging area or on the football field.

Graduation broadcast

The graduation ceremony will be broadcast live on  https://www.youtube.com/user/KJINews707 for anyone who is unable to attend the ceremony. If you subscribe to the Youtube channel in advance, you will be notified when the broadcast goes live on graduation night.

A note about gifts…

While your love, prayers and encouragement are the greatest gift he could receive, if you are considering a cash gift to recognize Waylon’s achievements and to support his pursuit of a mechanical engineering degree at the University of Oklahoma while living on campus, this QR Code will allow you to send money safely & easily via his CashApp if that is best for you.

Cards can also be brought to the celebration or mailed to: Waylon Cannon, 5000 Trailridge Lane, Choctaw, OK 73020

Some of you are asking for gift ideas, so I am adding this: Due to OU not assigning housing until the end of May he can’t get put a wishlist together of things he will need for his dorm because every dormitory is so different. He will be needing to shop over the summer for a laptop, specialty calculators, a car and also at Walmart and Amazon for his dorm supplies (bedding, etc.). He loves White Monster drinks, Rainbow goldfish crackers, Premier Protein chocolate protein shakes and lego sets.
